Sports medicine is a medical specialty that evaluates and follows a man or a woman regarding his or her physical sportive activities.
It has three fields of action:
1 – Evaluates the physical condition of everyone, searching for the existing risk elements in a way to diminish the lesions (e.g.: medical sportive exam, diet evaluation, weight control, medication taken, etc…)
2 – Before the identified risk factors, adequate measures are established in order to make physical or sportive activities safer, (e.g.: advise in the sportive activity choice, diet corrections, supplements panning, etc.)
3 –Treatment of all clinical situations resulting of any physical or sportive activity, (e.g.: skeletal muscle lesion, general lesions, diet disfunction, behaviour change in physical activities, metabolically change, etc…)
Sports medicine has a wide range in terms of fields of intervention once it studies the human being in movement.
